Dacia Trajana and Dacia Aureliana are not official Roman names but are given by historians to Dacia Felix (109-275) and to Provincia Daciae (greek ὑπαρχία Δακίας, 275-337) - later restructured into bigger diocesis Daciae (greek Διοίκησις Δακίας established 337) and integrated (357) into the Praetorian prefecture of Illyricum (greek ἐπαρχότης / ὑπαρχία [τῶν πραιτωρίων] τοῦ Ἰλλυρικοῦ, collapsed 681). Romanian historians considered Dacia traiană and Dacia aureliană as the “original home” of the Romanian people, meaning the area of its ethnogenesis. But Hungarian and Russian historians deny its persistence north of the Danube, while Serbian and Bulgarian historians deny its persistence south of the Danube.
